READING, Ohio (WTNH)– We’ve been hearing a lot of creepy clown stories of people dressing up as clowns down South and scaring kids.

According to WCPO, a woman in Ohio apparently lied about being attacked by a clown, because she was running late for work. The incident was not related to Friday’s incident that resulted in the closure of some Ohio schools.

18-year-old Alexsandra Conley called police Saturday morning around 6 a.m. and  told them that the clown jumped over a fence, waved a knife and cut her thumb.

Conley described her attacker as a guy wearing a red wig, a clown costume and a teardrop under his eye. Police looked into the story and found a bunch of holes and the girl later admitted she made the whole thing up because she was going to be late to her job at McDonald’s.

Police say Conley was charged with one count of making false alarms.
