Video of Houston-area school bus crash released

CROSBY, Texas (KXAN) — A week after a school bus rolled on its side outside of Houston, injuring 17 students and the bus driver, video of the crash has been released.

The video, posted on KPRC’s website, shows the bus driver motion to the right before the bus careened into the ditch, rolling on its side.

None of the injures in the Sept. 23 incident were life-threatening. KPRC reports the bus driver swerved to avoid hitting a truck waiting to turn off FM 1942.

The school bus did not have seat belts.

Closer to Austin, a Taylor ISD bus driver is recovering from a rollover crash on Loop 397 Thursday morning. The school district says they are reevaluating seat belts on their buses after the incident. No students were on the bus at the time of the crash.
