William Shatner Interview – 50 Years of Star Trek and Stage Show in Connecticut

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – Today Teresa Dufour and Ryan Kristafer chatted with the one-and-only, William Shatner! Mr. Shatner explains how he started his career as a Shakespearean actor, and transitioned into film.

Shatner is best known for his role as Captain Kirk on Star Trek, which celebrates its 50th anniversary. When signing on to the show, Shatner didn’t think the series would have so much success:

The fact that you and I are talking about it (Star Trek), 50 years later, is a show biz phenomenon. When we were popular, the lawmakers would vote for more money for space programs.

Shatner is stopping by Connecticut on October 15th at The Bushnell to perform his stage-show “Shatner’s World – we just live in it!” It’s all part of Lite 100.5 WRCH’s 19th annual “Nite of Lite Laughter” with proceeds to benefit the Hartford Healthcare Cancer Institute.

Be sure to tune in weekday mornings at 9 to CT Style!
