TORRINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) – If you need a smoke detector the Torrington Fire Department is ready to hook you up. The Fire Department’s goal is “Prevention before Intervention.” They want to ensure that everyone in the City of Torrington who wants a working smoke detector will have one.

The Torrington Fire Department along with the Home Depot and Operation Save-A-Life are starting a program offering homeowners who need a smoke detector the opportunity to have one installed in their home. It’s proven that early notification saves lives and the Torrington Fire Department wants to do everything possible to lower the risk and keep the community safe.
