GUILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – The Guilford Police Animal Shelter is asking people to keep their chickens on their own property.

In a Facebook post, the Guilford Police Animal Shelter said it has received an increase in the number of complaints and phone calls regarding “free roaming” chickens.

The shelter said it understands the idea of letting the chickens roam but wants to remind people that they cannot be in the roads.

The shelter also said that some people may not want chickens roaming into their yard.
