HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – Hartford drivers, listen up!  The Metropolitan District will be working on State Street (between Columbus Boulevard and Market Street) to replace approximately 530 linear feet of a 36-inch brick sewer main originally built in 1896.

Emergency repairs are necessary as MDC inspections revealed potential structural issues under the heavily traveled road.

The pipe installation is expected to take approximately six weeks. No sewer service interruptions are anticipated. Construction work is scheduled to take place at night from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Monday through Saturday. It starts on Tuesday October 11.
