SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. (WTNH) — Police have arrested a Hartford man after he allegedly stole a car and used a credit card that was inside the vehicle.
In August of 2016, police received a report from a Hartford resident who had his car stolen. The burglar also got access to and used the resident’s credit card, which was located inside the car.
Detectives identified 18-year-old Luis Rodriquez of Bushnell Street in Hartford as the suspect and interviewed him. Rodriquez admitted to being part of a group that would drive around different towns and look for unlocked cars to steal.
South Windsor Police later obtained an arrest warrant and arrested Rodriquez on Wednesday under the charges of Conspiracy to Commit Burglary, Conspiracy to Commit Larceny, and Illegal Use of a Credit Card.
Rodriquez was held on a $25,000.00 bond and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on Thursday.
