HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Hartford’s bravest are remembering one of their own.

Friday, the fire department honored the life of Kevin Bell. Bell was killed in the line of duty on this day in 2014 when he became tangled in some furniture inside a burning building and ran out of air. His death sparked an investigation that revealed safety problems within the department.

Firefighters laid wreaths at the training facility, engine 16 and at Bell’s final resting place.
