NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – Columbus Day is being celebrated on Monday all across the country, including at Gusto’s Trattoria. Chef Riccardo Mavuli shares a recipe for Columbus Day celebrations that is only made every other Saturday at the restaurant.

The second Monday in October is designated in the United States as Columbus Day. This day commemorates Christopher Columbus’ first voyage and sighting of the Americas on October 12, 1492.

There is always something new and exciting at Gusto’s Trattoria. Not only is a new menu in the works, but the outdoor patio is open for daytime and evening dining. During the evening, diners can even enjoy the romantic ambiance of a fire pit.  Private rooms for special occasions are also available.
