Pedestrian seriously injured in New Britain hit and run

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTNH)– New Britain police are searching for the person who seriously injured a pedestrian in a hit and run Thursday night.

Police say just before 8 p.m, a 55-year-old man was walking near the rear parking lot of 75 Arch Street when he was struck by a car that then left the scene. The man suffered serious injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. His current condition is unknown at this time.

The scene has since been processed by New Britain Police Department’s Traffic Safety Bureau, but the evading car has not yet been found. Police were able to obtain video surveillance footage of the car leaving the scene. Officers describe it as a light colored two tone sedan.

Police ask anyone with information regarding the car or who may have witnessed the crash to contact them at (860) 826-3071. The incident remains under investigation.
