Vehicle Fire Closes Route 15 North in Meriden

MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — The northbound side of Route 15 between I-91 and I-691 in Meriden is closed after a motor-vehicle accident.

Connecticut State Police reported the accident around 7:30 a.m. Friday morning. The vehicle was reported to be on fire and all lanes are closed except the left lane. There were no injuries in the accident, according to Troopers.

Smoke may be effecting drivers’ visibility on I-691 eastbound as they approach the scene of the fire. Drivers are urged to use extra precaution as the approach the scene.

There is no word on what may have caused the accident or the fire.
