TOLLAND, Conn. (WTNH)– A 29-year-old man was arrested on drug charges after being pulled over on I-84 in Tolland Friday.
State Police say that at around 7:45 p.m., troopers had been in the area of Route 195 (Merrow Road) and I-84 after several citizens complained of narcotic activity in the area. That’s when troopers saw a red Volkswagen, with an equipment violation, enter I-84 eastbound.
The car was pulled over near the rest area in WiIlington. Police say upon speaking with the occupants of the car, it was determined that the car contained narcotics so they requested a canine team.
A pair of brass knuckles, as well as Suboxone sublingual strips, prescription Methadone, Oxycodone pills, and a “substantial amount of cash in numerous denominations” was then found in the car. The Suboxone, Methadone and Oxycodone have an estimated street value of approximately $500.
