Woman dies from gunshot wound at Danbury home

DANBURY, Conn. (WTNH)– Police are investigating after a 31-year-old woman died from a gunshot wound at a Danbury home, Saturday afternoon.

Police say officers responded to an apartment at 26 South Street around 1:30 p.m.,  to reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was pronounced dead on the scene. Police are withholding her name until her family is notified.

The investigation is still ongoing at this time. Police ask anyone with information to contact them at 203-790-8477.
