HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH)– Over one hundred homes were without power in Hamden Monday, after a tractor truck crashed into a utility pole.

Police say at around 7:30 a.m., officers responded to the area of Pine Rock Avenue and High Top Circle to the report of motor vehicle accident.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver started his tractor, which was not hauling a trailer, before it rolled down a hill a short distance and struck a utility pole. The tractor then snapped the utility pole, causing it to block High Top Circle.

There were no injuries in the crash but High Top Circle was expected to be impassable for two hours.
