Police identify woman killed in Danbury shooting

DANBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — Police have identified the victim who was killed in a Danbury shooting over the weekend.

31-year-old Sherrie Blount of Danbury was fatally shot Saturday afternoon on 26 South Street. Police say they responded to the apartment around 1:30 p.m., to a report of shots fired.

Blount was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say there is no information that leads them to believe there is a danger to the public.

This is still an ongoing investigation and police ask anyone with information to call the Danbury Police Department TIPS Line at (203) 790-8477.
