Cruisin’ Connecticut – Crashing into the Boards with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) – Today thou art Cruisin’ Connecticut to the Webster Bank Arena, home of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers!

The professional hockey team (New York Islanders affiliate) kicks off the 2016 season, Saturday, October 15th at 7p.m.

Many of the players on the roster were standouts from local colleges like Yale and Quinnipiac, and now they’re just one step away from the NHL.

Team play-by-play announcer, Alan Fuehring says:

Opening night, the first 2,000 fans get a magnet with a schedule. It’s the first chance for fans to see this new team on the ice. Hopefully it’ll led to a championship.

Some of these guys are shooting slap shots of up to 90 mph. For me… well as you’ll see in this video… I’ll stick to air hockey.
