I-95 southbound reopens in Milford after tractor trailer crash causes heavy delays

MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– All lanes of I-95 southbound have reopened in Milford after a tractor trailer crash closed part of the highway and caused heavy delays Tuesday morning.

The Department of Transportation reports that I-95 southbound was congested for 3.6 miles between exits 40 and 36 due to an accident involving two tractor trailers between exits 38 and 36.

The accident was reported around 5:40 a.m. and state police say there are minor injuries. There is no word on what caused the crash at this time.

Police say all lanes are now open but drivers should reduce speed approaching the area.


The accident remains under investigation.
