NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH) — A Norwich man has been arrested after police found him with crack cocaine.

Norwich police say they have received several complaints from neighbors of suspicious activity that police say was consistent with narcotics trafficking.

On Wednesday, police served a search and seizure warrant at the Cliff Street residence where they found crack cocaine, digital scales, drug packaging materials and $2,000 cash. Police then arrested 39-year-old Oles Jean-Baptiste, who they say lives in the home.

Jean-Baptiste is charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police say Jean-Baptiste has 17 previous arrests. He is being held on $5,000 bond and is due in court on October 13.

Norwich police want to remind residents to always call them if they see any suspicious behavior at (860)886-5561 or (860)886-5561 ext. 500.
