Daniel Street reopens after bomb squad investigation in Milford

(WTNH - Kevin Frederick)

MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Residents were asked to avoid the area of 50 Daniel Street in Milford Wednesday while police investigated a ‘suspicious item.’

Milford Police say that the suspicious item was inside a vehicle. The Connecticut State Police Bomb Squad was called to the scene.

The location is the address of the Stonebridge Restaurant.

Authorities say a caller reported that there appeared to be an explosive device in the car. Investigators determined the object was a facsimile, and was not dangerous.

Milford Police tell News 8 the area has re-opened to traffic.
