POMFRET, Conn. (WTNH) — On Tuesday night just after 6 o’clock, Troop D stopped a suspicious vehicle off of Route 44 in Pomfret. After the vehicle pulled onto Day Road for several motor vehicle violations, Troopers recognized two of the passengers in the car from a recent narcotics search warrant that police had executed in Thomson the previous summer. After interviewing the three passengers in the vehicle, two males and one female, officers were suspicious that they were trafficking heroin from Hartford to Pomfret.
The rear passenger, identified as Margaret Williams, admitted to having heroin and turned over a clear plastic bag containing a small block of heroin. Williams was arrested and transported to Troop D in Danielson where she was charged with Possession of Heroin. She was processed and released on a $2500 cash-surety bond and will appear for the aforementioned charges in the Danielson Superior Court later this month.
