EAST HAMPTON, Conn. (WTNH) – Today thou art Cruisin’ Connecticut to East Hampton, to the grounds of “Paul’s and Sandy’s Too Hardware”, to explore their “Pumpkintown USA” attraction!

The village’s population is just around 70 pumpkinheads and keeps growing every year. The “town” buys 50-70 tons of local pumpkins a year, and sell them around the village. Every night, the staff disassembles the pumpkinheads and stores them away to avoid frost.

I asked owner, Dan Peszynski if Pumpkintown had been making a push for legislation:

Any chance of talking to Governor Malloy to make it a real town someday? No we kind of stay away from all of the politics.

The destination features daily hay rides through the mile-long Pumpkintown Forest, along with a harvest shop with fresh produce and beautiful mums.
