NEWTOWN, Conn. (WTNH) – Former U.S. Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords will bring her 14-state tour to fight gun violence to Connecticut this weekend.

On Saturday, Giffords’ 42-day “Vocal Majority National Bus Tour” will make a stop in Newtown. Giffords will hold a roundtable discussion on gun violence with U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, and Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty in Newtown’s Edmond Town Hall at 11 a.m. Giffords says the focus will be on how far the nation has come since the Sandy Hook tragedy.

Giffords is the Co-Founder of the gun violence prevention political action committee Americans for Responsible Solutions. She survived an assassination attempt in her home state of Arizona in 2012 that left her with a severe brain injury.
