Cruisin’ Connecticut – Race the Ridge Mountain Bike Challenge in Middlefield

MIDDLEFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) – Today thou art Cruisin’ Connecticut to Powder Ridge Mountain Park & Resort, home of the 2016: “Race the Ridge Mountain Bike Challenge!”

As if going down the mountain on skis or a snowboard wasn’t enough of an adrenaline rush… now you can go down on two wheels.

The group of 50 racers will reach top speeds of 25 – 30 mph.

Powder Ridge Owner, Sean Hayes has been crafting the trails for the riders:

“The course itself is one of our downhill mountain biking trails that we’ve been working on over the last nine months refining it and updating it so even if you’re a beginner, you can participate in this. I mean that’s the key to this mountain, what we’re trying to do is get new mountain bikers involved in this downhill mountain biking sport. I mean we couldn’t have timed this event better. I mean it is almost peak season here so you’ll be able to take chairlift rides to the top, see the fall foliage views and watch the event as it occurs.”
