Mugging victim tells police “I just want to go back to Milford”

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – Early Wednesday morning, New Haven Police say they got a call from a man who was having a bad night. When they showed up to the 900 block of Grand Avenue a bruised 33 year old man told police he had been out with friends at Scores strip club just up the street. The man says his friends left him there so he went out to look for them. He wound up in the public housing complex at Grand Avenue and Hamilton Street, where a group of men beat him and took his cell phone and $100 cash. The man told police he didn’t want to file a complaint, he just wanted to go home to Milford. The man was taken by ambulance to the hospital for a check up. His injuries were minor.
