Police make arrest in New London home invasion, assault

NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTNH) — New London police have made an arrest after a reported home invasion early Friday morning.

Police say around 2:10 a.m. Friday, a home invasion and assault occurred at an apartment at 48 Crystal Avenue.

According to the victims, the suspect, who police later identified as 34-year-old Talala Holder, kicked the door open of an apartment. Holder then allegedly picked up a “grilling-type fork” and tried to stab both victims with it. Police say one victim was struck in the arm and the other was kicked in the head.

Police say they found Holder in an apartment on the fifth floor and arrested him. He is charged with home invasion, two counts of second-degree assault, second-degree criminal mischief, interfering with police and disorderly conduct.

Police say this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
