Fire damages Norwich business a day after opening

NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH)– A Norwich business is cleaning up from water damage Sunday, after a fire ignited just one day after opening its doors.

According to the Norwich Bulletin, a fire started Saturday afternoon at Foundry 66, at 66 Franklin Street,  just before 4 p.m. on the second floor. Firefighters had to break through the roof to fight the flames. Then, water was poured into the building.

Foundry 66 markets themselves as alternative office space for small businesses.They had just opened Friday.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
