Hartford Police Apprehend Juvenile With Illegal Gun

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – A tragedy has been averted in the capitol city.  A 16-year-old was caught with an illegal gun and ammunition after a traffic stop.  Officers assigned to the detail observed a 2016 Toyota Camry traveling in the center of the road at a high rate of speed southbound on Barbour Street in Hartford.  After they pulled the car over, they say the teen got out and started running.  He took a gun from his waistband, and held it as he ran from police.  With the help of numerous assisting officers, the 16 year old Juvenile suspect was eventually taken into custody in the area of 281 Barbour Street. A firearm with 13 live rounds was recovered on scene.

The 16 year old juvenile suspect has been arrested 3 previous times, (also the suspect in other felony crimes) and has also been the victim of a shooting at age 14.
