TRUMBULL, Conn. (WTNH) — On returning from a call on Sunday, Trumbull’s Long Hill Volunteer Fire Department returned to their station to find a “thank you” note, of sorts.

Firefighters returned to the Long Hill Volunteer Station 3 from a call, and found words of gratitude chalked into the front apron of the property. Above a doodled smiley face, sun, and flower, the words, “Thank you for all you do,” were written in chalk. The department snapped a photo and posted it, saying “We truly appreciate your support! Proudly serving since 1921!”

They hope that their post, and subsequent media coverage, get a “thank you” back to those who wrote the message. “We hope… our “Thank you” gets to those who were kind enough to think of our volunteers today!”
