New Haven officials break ground at new Farnam Courts development

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — New Haven officials joined forces with a redevelopment group Wednesday to celebrate the groundbreaking of a new community.

Mayor Toni Harp was on hand at the ceremony at the Farnam Courts development. It’s located on Franklin Street, right off of Grand Avenue. Mayor Harp says this new community will be an asset to the Elm City.

“Throughout New Haven there is more and more evidence of vitality, investment and innovation and all of that creates demand for housing among the many who will want to live here,” she said.

Once completed, the Farnam Courts development will consist of about 90 affordable housing units.

The project is costing about $42-million. It’s being paid for through state and local funds, as well as tax credits and private loans.
