EAST WINDSOR, Conn. (WTNH) — East Windsor police say that cars in the Winton Road area of town were burglarized, and in one case stolen, and that these were “crimes of opportunity.”

The East Windsor Police Department issued a “Neighborhood Crime Alert” around midnight on Wednesday night, after “a number” of cars were broken into, and one vehicle was stolen. They say the stolen car was quickly recovered. There is no word on whether any arrests were made in connection with this incident.

After issuing a similar warning just over a week ago, East Windsor police are urging locals to lock up. Whether your car or garage, police say to keep it secure, and not to leave keys anywhere they might be accessed.

Last week, East Windsor police reported break-ins on North Main Street, Pleasant Street, Skinner Road, Highland Avenue, and Reservoir Avenue. These areas are 3 to 5 miles from Wednesday night’s robberies.

Anyone with any information is encouraged to call East Windsor police at (860) 292-8240.
