Fire Marshal investigates Stamford condo fire

STAMFORD, Conn (WTNH) — The Stamford Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of a condo fire on Wednesday.

Stamford firefighters responded to a three alarm fire at the Waterside Green Condominiums on Southfield Avenue around 7:30 Wednesday night.

When crews arrived at the scene, they noted that the fire was spreading quickly. The fire engulfed three floors and the attic of the building.

With the help of six engine companies, three truck companies, and one heavy duty rescue company, firefighters were able to bring the fire under control within an hour.

The Red Cross, Stamford Emergency Medical Services, and the Stamford Police Department, arrived at the scene to help the residents affected by the fire.

Crews were able to evacuate over a a dozen people from the building, and reported no injuries.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
