Third suspect arrested in connection with Groton 99 restaurant shooting

GROTON, Conn. (WTNH) — Groton Police have made a third arrest in connection with an October 2nd shooting that injured a 17-year-old boy.

Police were called to the 99 Restaurant at 117 Long Hill Road in Groton on the report of the shooting, just after 4:30 p.m. Officers discovered the victim in the parking lot. He was transported to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital for a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

The police investigation determined the shooting was not a random act. Witnesses told investigators two suspects fled the scene after the shooting. The two 17-year-old suspects were arrested by earlier this month.

On Thursday, police arrested 18-year-old Timothy B. McKoy of New London while he was appearing at a New London courthouse on an unrelated charge.

McKoy now faces charges of conspiracy to commit robbery, accessory to robbery and accessory to assault. His bond was set at $150,000.
