Virginia TV anchor says ‘check your panties’ after reading script with a typo

RICHMOND, VA (WTNH) — One Virginia news anchor found out the hard way that one letter can really make a difference when reading the teleprompter.

NBC12’s Eric Philips from Richmond, Virginia was reading his script like normal when a typo caused him to say “check your panties.”

The script intended to say “check your pantries,” but the “r” was missing and the crew did not catch the mix up before it slipped out on air.

Philips co-anchor Karla Redditte can be heard telling him that she saw the typo right before he started talking but did not have enough time to warn him.

The team took it very gracefully and busted out in laughter after they realized what happened.

The video has since gone viral and the watch count continues to grow.
