Goodwill Opens New Store & Donation Station in Oxford

OXFORD Conn. (WTNH) — A new 11,000-square-foot Goodwill officially opened Friday morning on Route 67 in Oxford.

The new goodwill store and donation station is the first retail outlet to open at Quarry Walk. The store is located at 274 Oxford Road, and will employ more than 40 people from the surrounding community, the new Goodwill store in Oxford offers customers clothing for the family, home décor, electronics, and furniture.

In an effort to make donating that much easier, this Goodwill location will have a drive-thru donation station with workers helping unload donations from cars and giving tax receipts out.

The new Oxford Goodwill Store and Donation Station will be the first Goodwill location in town. It also marks the 19th Goodwill store to open in western and northern Connecticut. The Oxford store will celebrate its grand opening on October 21, 2016 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that will include local dignitaries and community leaders.

Opening day specials will include a free reusable shopping bag with any purchase and an opportunity to enter to win a $200 Goodwill shopping spree.

The president of Goodwill of Western & Northern Connecticut, Vickie Volpano says:

“We are thrilled to be a part of the Oxford community and excited to be anchoring one of the town’s historic shopping districts. When Goodwill builds a new location, we also help build the community. Our goal is to contribute to the success of the local community offering residents great employment opportunities, job training and mentoring. We can’t wait to greet our new neighbors.”
