Possible server attack leads to multiple website outages

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — If have had issues connecting to Twitter, Reddit, Spotify and many others this morning, a possible attack on a server may have been the cause.

The website for the Dyn DNS server said Friday morning an attack is mainly impacting the eastern United States.

This attack is mainly impacting US East and is impacting Managed DNS customers in this region. Our Engineers are continuing to work on mitigating this issue.

Dyn’s clients include Twitter, Etsy, Soundcloud, and many other services and sites. An error message could be seen Friday morning for some trying to connect to Twitter.
