Shooting victim has long arrest record

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH)  –   A man shot early this morning in Hartford has an extensive criminal record according to Hartford Police.

The man, who is not being identified, was shot once as he sat on a front porch on Barbour Street.  Police say they were alerted to the shooting by a gunshot detection system.   According to police the system indicated four shots had been fired in the area of 138 Barbour Street at 12:10 a.m. followed by two 911 calls.  The victim was found a 149 Barbour Street with a gunshot wound to a shoulder.  He was conscious and alert and was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released.

Hartford Police say the victim had been arrested 27 times mostly on drug charges.

No arrests have been made in this case.
