Taftville man found with almost a pound of marijuana when pulled over for speeding

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. (WTNH) — One Taftville man is being held at Police Headquarters for being caught with marijuana Friday morning.

Police said they pulled over Corey Fowler, 23, on Route 32 in Willimantic for speeding at 1:45 a.m. Fowler was going 53 mph in a 35mph zone.

According to police 15.996 ounces of marijuana was seized during the stop and he was taken into custody.

Fowler was charged with possession of greater than four ounces of marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to sell.

Police said Fowler is being held on a $50,000 cash or surety bond and will be arraigned in Danielson Superior Court later Friday morning.
