Man arrested in Bristol fatal shooting

BRISTOL, Conn. (WTNH) — According to the Bristol Police Department, a man was shot to death outside of a Bristol residence on Friday night.

Bristol Police responded to a report of a shooting victim on the ground outside of 240 Woodland Street just before 5:30 p.m. Daniel Caron, 63, of Bristol was shot in the chest and was taken to Bristol Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police collected evidence from the scene, including a handgun and later arrested 35-year-old Chad Couture of Bristol in connection with the shooting. Couture was charged with first-degree manslaughter with a firearm and criminal possession of a firearm. He is being held on a $500,000 bond and the incident is still under investigation.
