5K Angel Run held in Milford to benefit Angelman Syndrome

MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– Runners came out in droves in Milford Sunday morning for the 5K Angel Run.

All of it was to help the “Fighting Angels Foundation.” It benefits Angelman Syndrome, which is a rare neuro-genetic disorder.

Joey Moretti from Monroe is the inspiration for the event. His family lives everyday with the challenges of Angelman syndrome.

“There’s funds needed for research and families that need assistance for medical devices, medical equipment and so on and so forth,” said Tai Moretti, Joey’s mother.

“I love doing this for my cousin and everybody else out there that has it,” said 9-year-old Ava Moretti.
