Person killed in fiery Oxford crash

OXFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– Police are investigating after a person was killed in a crash in Oxford Saturday morning.

Police say a GMC Sonoma was traveling on Maple Tree Hill Road when it drove off the right side of the roadway just before 6:30 am.  The truck then struck a drain support before rolling on its side and catching fire.

The driver was found dead on the scene. Police have not released the identity of the driver at this time.

There is no word on the cause of the crash. The accident remains under investigation by the state police.
