Breast Cancer Patients and Survivors Get Pampered on Day Of Hope


NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – The Day of Hope is held on October 29th by local small businesses is designed to relax and pamper breast cancer fighters and survivors.

Services such as massage, reiki, yoga, facials, laster treatment, and more will be free of charge for breast cancer survivors and patients.

Dr. Sunny Waitze of Pomperaug Plastic surgery and her team are providing the laser treatment and mini facials. Breast cancer survivor Nancy Cardinale is the massage therapist for the day. Also, Cara Spath of Cara Spath Permanent Cosmetics have planned our Day of Hope

Cara Spath, the head coordinator for Day of Hope and breast cancer survivor, says the most important thing is making sure everyone involved has a boost of self-esteem and relaxation. “The Day of Hope is all about making breast cancer survivors and patients feel good about themselves,” said Spath, “forgetting about what they’ve been through and what they’re going through, coming out rejuvenated and relaxed.” Spath will be able to tattoo a 3-D areola for patients who have lost that part of them during their treatment.

The event will be held October 29th at Pomperaug Plastic Surgery located at 22 Poverty Road in Southbury from 10am-2pm
