EASTON, Conn. (WTNH) — Gilbertie’s Herb Farm for the past thirty years has been successful in the town of Easton. This herb farm has been in the family for generations.

In this week’s ‘Working For Connecticut,’ we sat down with Sal Gilbertie from Gilbertie’s Herb Farm to discuss the business itself and the success that the company has had in Easton.

“The biggest part of Gilbertie’s is that we’re 100% certified organic. The entire farm is certified organic. Everything’s coming from the soil. The soil, your’re going to have more flavor, more nutrition–And it’s what the seed is supposed to grow in,” said Sal Gilbertie.

At Gilbertie’s Herb Farm, they have about four acres of green houses that operate year round and twenty acres of cultivated land. Microgreen, a small-sized green that offers tremendous nutritional value, is the largest selling product at Gilberties. The town of Easton has been extremely good to Gilbertie’s and they are hopeful for successful years ahead.
