HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut officials say they will conduct a two-day emergency preparedness drill designed to simulate a major ice storm.

Gov. Dannel Malloy said one of the goals of the drill is to improve communications among the state’s partners during emergency situations. The drill will be held this Saturday and on Nov. 2.

The drill will be coordinated by the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection’s Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security. State government, local governments and utility companies will be involved.

Malloy and Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman will participate in the drill.
