Plainfield police investigate crash, likely caused by wet roads

PLAINFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — Plainfield police are investigating a one-car accident that sent a 56-year-old local to Backus Hospital for injuries.

At 7:58 p.m. on Thursday night, Plainfield police say they were dispatched to Tarbox Road, where they found a 56-year-old Gregory Hardy, of that street, suffering from injuries he’d sustained after his car skidded off the wet roadway. Police say his 2014 Ford F150 likely had trouble negotiating a curve while heading westbound on Tarbox.

Plainfield firefighters and EMTs responded to the scene, and Hardy was transported to Backus Hospital by ambulance.

There is no word on the severity of injuries, and police say the investigation is open.
