Westport police investigating car into building

WESTPORT Conn. (WTNH )– Westport police are investigating what caused a car to drive into a building on the Post Road East Thursday afternoon.

Police say they were called to a business on the Boston Post Road for a report of a car into a building. Police say when they arrived they found an SUV partially into the front of the building.

Officials had to check the building to make sure it was stable enough to take the car out of the building. Officials from the Westport Building Department responded to assist on scene. The business was unoccupied at the time of the crash.

The vehicle was removed from the building and the scene was turned over to the property manager to make repairs. The crash is under investigation.
