PLAINFIELD, Conn. (WTNH)– A 21-year-old Chaplin man was arrested Saturday for the armed robbery of a Plainfield gas station.

Police say officers responded to Best Way Gas Station, at 2 Prospect Street in Moosup Village, around 5:42 p.m. after receiving a report of an armed robbery. The suspect had entered the gas station and showed a knife, demanding money from the store clerk. The suspect then fled on food and was said to be traveling north on Main Street wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and work jeans.

After an investigation, officers were able to identify the suspect as Cody Lester. Police say Lester was also responsible for and confessed to robbing the Valero Gas Station in Plainfield on October 12th.

Lester was found and interviewed by police, where he also confessed to the Best Way Gas Station robbery. He was then charged with robbery, reckless endangerment and larceny. Lester is being held on $100,000 bond and will appear in court Monday.
