NEW HAVEN Conn. (WTNH) — An event to help raise money to fight breast cancer and educate girls about the cancer. Lauralton Hall in Milford is hosting the 1st Annual Mary Ann Wasil Daisy Run.
In honor of the founder of the nonprofit Get In Touch Foundation that educates girls about breast health, Lauralton Hall in Milford will host the 1st Annual Mary Ann Wasil Daisy Run to raise money to fight breast cancer. Mary Ann’s daughter, Betsy Nilan, President of the Get In Touch Foundation, and Erin Pinsince a Physics Teacher at Lauralton Hall and School Coordinator of the Daisy Run stopped by our station to talk about the event.
The mission of the Get In Touch Foundation is to provide breast health initiatives that educate gals and guys of all ages how to “get in touch” with their bodies, information, and each other in our crusade against breast cancer. Lauralton Hall provides the Girls Program for free to schools all around the world, which teaches girls the importance of and how to do a breast self-exam through our educational tool, the daisy wheel.
The 5K proceeds help the hungry and homeless in our community to benefit the Bethel Center of Milford. The 5K is October 29th at 9:00a.m. at Lisman Landing in Milford.
