Man Arrested For New Haven Shooting

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)- A New haven man is now charged with first degree assault for allegedly shooting another man back in June.

Police charged 29-year-old Ibrahim Shareef Jr on October 31. Police say the incident happened on June 27 on Kensington Street. Police say there was some type of shooting between two people, and 24-year-old Jaray Turner of New Haven was shot in the leg. Police say Turner was okay, and he’s a convicted felon who was out on parole.

Police say, back in June, they arrested Shareef Jr for criminal possession of a pistol unlawful discharged of a firearm and illegally carrying a pistol without a permit. Police say it wasn’t until October 31, they also charged Shareef Jr with first degree assault.
