Police investigating a school bus accident in Hamden

HAMDEN Conn.(WTNH) — Hamden police are investigating a a car crash involving a school bus Monday afternoon.

Police say they were called to the area of Dixwell Avenue and Scott Street after a “First Student” school bus crashed into a utility pole. Officials say the school bus drove off the road and hit the pole snapping it and causing wires to fall on top of the bus. The Hamden Fire Department responded and determined that the wires were a part of the traffic light system.

The school bus did not contain any passengers. The driver of the school bus was not hurt. The crash is still under investigation.
