Traffic tied up on Route 9 early Tuesday

HADDAM, Conn. (WTNH) — A car accident tied up the early morning commute on Route 9 in Haddam.

State troopers said a car, with just one person inside, hit a tree. Troopers said the person was found unconscious but eventually woke up and was alert. At that time, the victim refused to be taken to the hospital.

Route 9 was temporarily closed for a bit Tuesday morning, but has since reopened. The scene was not completely clear until after 6:30 a.m.

Emergency personnel said they had to wait on the tow.
